A course designed for Medical Physicists, Trainees and Technologists involved in nir radiation protection and advice and providing calibration and maintenance services to phototherapy units.

This is a one-day short course on measurement, calibration, maintenance, management and safety of ultraviolet and visible phototherapy and other general optical equipment. It is intended for providers of medical physics and technical support of medical phototherapy units.

Course Aims

This course will provide adequate training in all relevant aspects of dosimetry, calibration and safety of ultraviolet and incoherent visible light sources as applied to their medical uses. It will include information on assessments according to the EU Optical Radiation Directive.

Certification

Attendance at this course will be recorded, and a Certificate of Attendance will provide adequate evidence of up to date training in ultraviolet and visible dosimetry and safety.

Fees – What’s Included?

The course fee includes lunch and refreshments during the teaching day, and associated teaching materials. Accommodation costs are not included, but there are a wide range of hotels in Cardiff City Centre within walking distance of the venue if you are planning to stay.

Payment of the course fees is to be made in full 8 weeks before commencement of the course. If payment is not received, the place will be given to the first person on the waiting list. We will not send reminders so would advise payment on receipt of invoice.
